What is the Van’s Warped Tour?
A huge music festival consisting of rock bands that occurs every summer. I remember going to my first Van’s Warped Tour when I was 19 years old. To hear that it is ending, truly pulls on my heart-strings; it’s a nostalgic event that happens every year. From 1995 until 2018, bands from all over would, tour through the United States and parts of Canada (the tour has been to other countries as well). These bands ranges from brand new to very well-known ; I like discovering the new bands and getting hooked on their music! I’ve been to quite a few Warped tours, a few in Massachusetts and a couple in Florida. They’re always a blast! although it could get super hot out because the concert takes place outdoors.
If you’re of age and have a designated driver, get to the venue early and tailgate in the back of your vehicle! I like to pack snacks and drinks in a cooler and play Frisbee or football with my friends. The perks that come with this is, closer parking to the entrance, save money on buying food and drinks inside the venue, and beating the crowd. We’re essentially having a picnic and a concert day!
Disclaimer: The cocktails were complimentary, however, my opinions expressed in this blog post are truthful to my experience.
What I like to bring to Tailgate:
- Crackers and cheese
If you’re like me and like tasty and convenient drinks, I recommend trying out “Vrai” which is a vodka based cocktail. They’re cocktails in a can which makes it easy to transport and super convenient for when you’re on the go. I like taking these with me when I’m going to the beach or having a picnic at the park; just put it in a cooler with some snacks and you’re golden. The best part, the ingredients are good; all natural, gluten-free, certified organic, and uses actual vodka. Check their website out at www.drinkvrai.com
This is an ode to the last “Van’s Warped Tour” and tailgating! I hope there is another tour that gets created with similar style, concept, and music. But until then, I’ll still continue to tailgate at football games or have picnics at the beach with my Vrai drink in my hand!
